Nanbu Ironware Grass Colored Teapot

This vibrant green teapot is a modern interpretation of Nanbu Tekki, Japan’s renowned cast ironware tradition. Its bold color brings a cheerful accent to any tea setting while maintaining the timeless quality and durability that define Nanbu ironware.

The interior is enamel-coated, making it resistant to rust and easy to maintain. However, it should not be used directly over an open flame. The cast iron body retains heat effectively, keeping tea warm while enhancing the depth of flavor with every pour.

Produced in Morioka and Ōshū cities in Iwate Prefecture, Nanbu ironware originated during the Edo period and was inspired by the tea ceremony culture cherished among feudal lords. Today, artisans continue to evolve this heritage by introducing contemporary colors and forms, blending tradition with modern lifestyle.
