This is a Nanbu iron kettle rest shaped like a cherry blossom. Nanbu ironware is a traditional craft made in Morioka and Oshu cities in Iwate Prefecture. It originated during the Edo period, inspired by the "tea ceremony" that was popular among the feudal lords.
