It originated from "Chanoyu" (tea ceremony) that was popular among lords during the Edo period.The unique designs that softly utilize the iron material create the distinctive character of Nambu ironware.
*It can be used directly over an open flame.
*Although the material is compatible with IH (induction heating) cookers, the bottom may deform with prolonged use.
*There is a risk of breakage if dropped. Please avoid sudden impacts.
Recommended uses: teapot, tea kettle.
Before Use:
Remove the lid and lightly rinse the inside of the iron kettle with water.
Fill the kettle up to 80% with water and boil for about 20 minutes.
Discard the boiling water and dry the inside with residual heat.
Repeat steps 1-3 three times before using.
After Use:
After boiling water in the iron kettle, pour out all the remaining water.
Remove the lid and dry the inside with residual heat.
Place the removed lid face up.
Heat the kettle for about 30 seconds with the lid off.
Stop heating immediately once the internal moisture has evaporated.
