This Kutani-yaki dish reflects the timeless beauty of one of Japan’s most celebrated porcelain traditions. Painted in vivid hues of red, green, yellow, purple, and navy blue, it depicts traditional motifs inspired by nature—flowers, birds, landscapes, and figures—alongside bold geometric patterns. The precise form, created on the potter’s wheel, highlights both elegance and the exceptional skill of Kutani artisans.

This piece was created by Toshihito Nakamura (art name Tōshihito), a distinguished artist and traditional craftsman. He is a member of the Japan Kogei Association and the Japan Art Association, and his works have been repeatedly selected and awarded at major exhibitions, including the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and the Creative Art Exhibition. In addition, he serves as a lecturer at the Ishikawa Kutaniyaki Technical Institute and is recognized as a first-class technician.

Compact yet refined, this dish embodies both cultural heritage and the artistry of a master craftsman.
